BODY TEMPERING 101
WHAT IS BODY TEMPERING?
Body Tempering is a recovery technique that improves mobility, reduces pain, and helps you recover faster. It uses weighted steel cylinders to apply deep, controlled pressure to muscles and connective tissue.
Unlike foam rolling or other body weight-based tools, Body Tempering allows for precise, adjustable pressure, making it more effective at relieving tight, overworked, or restricted areas. During a session, tempers are placed on targeted muscles while you relax and breathe, helping tissues release, improve circulation, and return to a healthier state.
Because each session is customized to your body, training, and comfort level, Body Tempering works for both athletes and active individuals looking to move better and feel better.
HOW BODY TEMPERING WORKS
When muscles become tight or restricted, they limit movement efficiency and increase injury risk. Body Tempering works by:
-
Reducing excessive muscle tone and stiffness
-
Improving blood flow and nutrient delivery
-
Breaking up adhesions and scar tissue
-
Restoring range of motion and joint function
-
Enhancing recovery between training sessions
Many clients notice immediate improvements in mobility and reduced soreness, often after their first session.
WHO IS BODY TEMPERING FOR?
-
Strength and conditioning athletes
-
Functional fitness and CrossFit athletes
-
Runners, cyclists, and endurance athletes
-
Active adults with chronic tightness or discomfort
-
Anyone looking to recover faster and move more freely
If you train hard, sit frequently, or feel “stuck” in your movement, Body Tempering can help.
WHAT A SESSION FEELS LIKE
Pressure is gradually introduced and adjusted throughout the session to stay within your tolerance. While some areas may feel intense at first, most clients find the sensation manageable—and often relaxing once tissues begin to release.
Your coach will guide breathing, positioning, and movement to ensure the experience is effective and safe.
BODY TEMPERING WITH STS
At Seneca Training Systems, Body Tempering is part of a performance-focused recovery approach, not a one-off treatment. Sessions are led by experienced coaches who understand how recovery fits into training, performance, and long-term durability.
Our goal is simple: help you move better, recover faster, and continue training without unnecessary setbacks.
